Chicken Preparation

  • Begin by sprinkling garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper evenly over the boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and safe to eat at 165°F. Set aside.

Rice Cooking

  • In the same skillet, pour in chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in rice and a pinch of salt, cover and cook for 18-20 minutes until liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork.

Creme Sauce Preparation

  • Melt butter in the skillet, whisk in flour for 1-2 minutes to create a roux. Gradually add milk and more chicken broth while whisking continuously until sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Stir in garlic powder, thyme, cheddar, and Parmesan until melted.

Combine and Serve

  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spoon the creamy sauce over the chicken, and serve over fluffy rice.
  • Top with fresh parsley for color and flavor.
