For the Cabbage Buns

  • 1 head Cabbage small, cut into thick slices
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil for brushing

For the Burger Patties

  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey or ground chicken or plant-based options
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large Egg optional, acts as a binding agent
  • 1 cup Cheese Optional, sprinkle on top before broiling

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for even cooking.
  • Slice the cabbage into thick, ½ inch rounds and brush both sides with olive oil.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and egg (if using). Mix until well combined.
  • Form the meat mixture into patties slightly smaller than the cabbage slices.
  • Place the shaped patties atop the cabbage slices on a baking sheet. Bake for about 25 minutes or until fully cooked.
  • For an optional cheesy twist, sprinkle cheese on top and broil for 3-5 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with sauces or a fresh salad.
