Instructions

Burger Preparation

  • Prepare Burger Sauce: In a jar, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and Sriracha. Mix well and refrigerate until you're ready to use it.
  • Preheat Griddle: Heat your Blackstone griddle to 425°F. This temperature ensures a beautifully seared exterior for the patties.
  • Prepare Ingredients: Divide the ground beef into 3-ounce balls. If using, slice the yellow onion thinly. Have your cheese, buns, salt, and pepper ready for assembly.
  • Cook Onions and Beef: Lightly oil the griddle with avocado oil. Place onion piles onto the griddle first, then top each with a beef ball. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Smash Patties: With a burger press, flatten the beef onto the onions until they are about ½ inch thick. Let cook for a few minutes until the tops brown.
  • Flip and Add Cheese: Carefully flip each patty using a spatula and immediately top with a slice of cheese. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts beautifully.
  • Assemble: Stack your perfectly cooked patties on the buns, adding any additional toppings you desire. Serve immediately and enjoy the flavors!

Notes

Optional: Add crispy bacon or fresh avocado slices for extra deliciousness.
