Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 1 lb Ground Chicken A succulent base for these sausage rolls.
  • 1 medium Onion Finely diced.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 tbsp Thyme Fresh, chopped.
  • 1 tbsp Sage Fresh, chopped.
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg Use sparingly.
  • 1 tsp Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard For tanginess.
  • 1 large Egg Beaten, half used in filling.

For the Pastry

  • 2 sheets Puff Pastry Thawed properly.
  • 1 tbsp Sesame or Poppy Seeds Optional garnish.

How to Make Sausage Rolls with Chicken

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely diced onion, minced garlic, thyme, sage, nutmeg, salt, pepper, Dijon mustard, and half of the beaten egg. Mix gently.
  • On a floured surface, unroll puff pastry and slice into strips. Shape the chicken filling into logs and place along each strip.
  • Fold the pastry over the filling logs, sealing the edges. Cut into 6-8 pieces and place on the baking tray.
  • Brush the tops with the remaining beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.

Notes

These rolls can be prepared ahead of time and frozen for easy baking later.
